What is B Corp?
B Corp (Benefit Corporation) is a global movement and certification that sets high standards for social and environmental responsibility, transparency, and ethical business practices. It is a comprehensive certification that goes beyond profit, focusing on creating a positive impact on employees, local communities, customers, suppliers, the environment, and society as a whole. It is important to emphasise that the B Corp certification is not static. Companies must be re-certified every three years, meaning they are committed to continuous improvement.
To achieve certification, a company must
Document its commitment to social and environmental responsibility: The company undergoes a B Impact Assessment, which evaluates five areas: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers. To become certified, the company must score at least 80 points. This score is evaluated and verified by B Lab, the organization behind the certification.
Make a legal commitment: The company must legally commit through its articles af association to consider all stakeholders, not only shareholders.
Publish progress: The company must make its results and progress publicly available so everyone cab follow its development.
Our Commitment to B Corp
Becoming B Corp certified is a natural step for us, reflecting the values we already live by. It shows our commitment to running a business that not only aims for economic growth but also strives to make a positive impact on the world around us.
We want our customers to feel assured that we are always working to improve our methods, products, and processes, so we can continue to create furniture with care for both people and the environment.
Our Approach to Sustainability
Caring for people and the environment is a fundamental part of our culture and philosophy. We aim to create furniture that is not only beautiful but also durable and ethically produced.
We work with the finest craftspeople and use only high-quality, responsibly sourced materials. This is how we help ensure the preservation of the valuable Danish design tradition and the legacy of Finn Juhl. Our furniture has a timeless quality, so you will never see a Finn Juhl piece discarded. Instead, it holds its value over time, with a strong resale market.
By focusing on quality, craftsmanship, and enduring design, we believe we can help foster a culture where furniture transcends fleeting trends. Our pieces are made to last, developing a beautiful patina over time and becoming cherished heirlooms passed down through generations.
Key Areas of Impact
We have four key focus areas that each reflect our values and approach to responsibility, quality, and sustainability. These areas guide everything we do and help to ensure that our furniture and practices have a positive impact on both people and the environment.
DURABILITY & QUALITY
Our furniture is built to last for generations. We use only the highest quality materials and combine them with expert craftsmanship, so each piece ages beautifully, developing a rich patina over time. This reduces the need for frequent replacements. With such craftsmanship, every piece becomes a lasting collectible. We believe that durability and timeless quality are essential to a more sustainable way of producing furniture.
Danish Production & Working Conditions
We are deeply committed to supporting local jobs through our investment in Danish production. By maintaining a strong focus on quality and Danish craft traditions, we ensure good working conditions for our employees and contribute to preserving the unique heritage that Danish craftsmanship and design represent.
Materials & Environmental Responsibility in Production
We prioritise reducing consumption, encouraging recycling, and minimising waste to promote sustainable development and protect resources. We use responsibly sourced, high-quality materials that meet high standards and hold material-specific certifications. Our material choices focus on durability, aesthetics, and sustainability, ensuring our furniture is not only beautiful but also produced with care for the environment. Every material we use is carefully selected to ensure it poses no risk to people or the planet.
DESIGNED TO GIVE
We support charitable causes through two special partnerships. In collaboration with the Wilhelm Hansen Foundation, which owns the rights to Finn Juhl’s designs, we contribute to the arts. All royalties from the sale of Finn Juhl furniture go to the foundation, which supports the performing arts and helps preserve Denmark’s cultural heritage. We also partner with the NGO LittleBigHelp, which works to improve living conditions for vulnerable children and families in India through education and development projects.

Being B Corp certified not only holds us to the standards set today, but also commits us to continually improving and taking responsibility for our future impact on the world. This means we will keep developing our production methods, sourcing even better materials, and actively supporting the communities we are part of.
Our responsibility goes beyond our own actions. We want to work closely with our suppliers, partners, and customers to create positive change. As part of the global B Corp movement, we see it as a shared mission to contribute to the necessary transformation, both within our industry and in the wider world.
We are proud of what we have achieved so far, but we know there is always more we can do. That is why we continuously work to evaluate and improve our practices, so we can help create a better future for the next generations.
We will always be curious to explore new ways to do things better – for people, for the planet, and to ensure our furniture remains of the highest quality.
