Revolutionizing Space: The Hulsø Shelf and New Fabric Collections at Maison & Objet, Paris
At the prestigious Maison & Objet fair in Paris, we proudly unveiled the Hulsø Shelf, a masterpiece originally designed by Finn Juhl in 1949. This shelf transcends traditional design, challenging the conventional notion of shelves as mere backdrops for objects. Its organically shaped design transforms the Hulsø Shelf into a striking artistic element, enhancing the aesthetic value of any room beyond simple functionality.
When the shelves are arranged together, they harmonize into a cohesive, organic expression with smooth, curvaceous lines, offering both beauty and utility to any space. Crafted from solid FSC® certified oak or American black walnut, the Hulsø Shelf allows for versatile mounting options – be it individually, in rows, or in free-form patterns.
Our showcase also highlighted iconic Finn Juhl pieces, now reimagined in luxurious new fabrics from Sahco – Kvadrat's 2024 collection. This collection, inspired by Neo-classicism of the North, beautifully melds grandeur and sophisticated ornamentation with a restrained Nordic elegance.
Among the standout pieces was the Poet Sofa, adorned in the Tablu fabric. Tablu redefines animal jacquard, offering an enduring interpretation of beloved zebra and leopard patterns. This high-quality woolen textile boasts exceptional execution and depth, available in classic hues such as zebra, coral red, charcoal, rust, deep brown, lavender, turmeric, salt and pepper, and sand.
In contrast, the France Chair was showcased in Fiorella, a fabric that blends explicit and implicit design elements. This epic floral pattern, set against a heavy chenille backdrop, creates a striking visual impact. Fiorella's triple-layered yet airy composition, reminiscent of a Robert Mapplethorpe still life, is available in colors like pink forest, pale blue, mandarin, sand beach, and graphite.
