We are proud to see Finn Juhl's 108 Chairs taking on a leading role at the former home of the world-renowned restaurant, Noma. The architects from Snøhetta have designed the interior and new graphic identity for Barr, a restaurant that opened its doors on July 5th. In collaboration with chef and restaurateur Thorsten Schmidt and chef René Redzepi the architects from Snøhetta have conceived a fresh approach to the interior design at the iconic location.

Throughout the restaurant, the design is driven by a strong duality and juxtaposition of the old and the new. When entering the restaurant, guests are greeted by a warm oak floor, that stand in fine contrast to the rough texture of the original stone walls. The dining chairs are our very own Finn Juhl's 108 Chairs in oak, upholstered with leather.
More on the Interior
A massive, carved wooden counter anchors the entire space. The ceiling is alternately composed of the original ceiling beams and new, sculpted wooden planks, that are embedded with brass details that reflect micro spots of light. Raw materials - wood, leather and wool - evoke the restaurant's Northern influence.
