This year, during the design week in Milan, we showcased Finn Juhl's sculptural furniture in two very different setups - at Salone del Mobile and in an apartment installation in the vibrant Brera Design District. At Salone del Mobile we brought one of Finn Juhl's most iconic designs back to life - the Grasshopper. It might sound risky to call a newly relaunched piece iconic, but with the Grasshopper, there is no doubt. In terms of craftsmanship, details and not the least its sheer size, the chair challenges the design tradition and therefore immediately drew people's attention at the fair.
The apartment installation called Perfect Darkness was born out of creativity and curiosity. Here, the past met the future, silence met sound, and darkness met light. By balancing the choice of materials, colours and shapes, the essential became obvious and a feel of home was created. House of Finn Juhl participated alongside Artcoustic, Astep, File Under Pop, Frama, H+O, Mad et Len, Menu, Officine Saffi and Stine Goya.
