The 500 Table | Finn Juhl | 1958
Originally designed by Finn Juhl for France & Son in 1958, the 500 Series of coffee tables echoes the refined aesthetic of the Japan Series. While not as widely known as some of his more daring pieces, the table remains timeless, thanks to its classic form and elegant detailing. Crafted from solid wood, it is distinguished by raised edges and angular legs. Today, the 500 Table is produced in solid oak or walnut and available in two sizes.

A Classic Mid-Century Table Design
In 1958, Finn Juhl designed a series of five occasional tables for the Danish furniture manufacturer France & Son. The series included tables ranging from a rectangular 69-inch version to a 24-inch version, a square table, and a slightly taller model featuring a wooden shelf.
A matching dining table measuring 40 x 74 inches was also part of the collection and could be extended to 9'4 inches using two leaves stored beneath the tabletop. All the tables were originally crafted in solid teak, and several of them can still be found in Finn Juhl's own home in Ordrup.
During the 1950s, France & Son accounted for 60% of all Danish furniture exports. Today, one of the tables has been reintroduced by House of Finn Juhl and is available in solid oak or walnut. With its timeless aesthetic and refined detailing, it integrates seamlessly into a wide range of interiors.
