Between Marble, Brass, and Oak

Step inside Copenhagen's Restaurant Palægade, where refined interiors meet timeless Danish design. Every detail – from brass accents to Finn Juhl’s sculptural dining chairs – shapes an atmosphere of understated elegance and sensory richness.

In Copenhagen’s historic center, Restaurant Palægade invites guests into an environment where every surface, every material, and every gesture speaks of refinement. The interiors embody a masculine elegance: deep, earthy tones are balanced by the soft glow of brass lamps, the shimmering surfaces of brass tabletops, the play of light on polished glass, and the tactile warmth of oak. Against a floor of cool black-and-white marble tiles, Finn Juhl's sculptural Reading Chairs take their place – crafted in solid wood and sturdy leather, they anchor the room with quiet authority.

Rebuilt after a devastating fire in 2020, Palægade has once again been furnished with handpicked classics from Finn Juhl’s oeuvre. The Reading Chair and the Panel System punctuate the space with a sense of both exclusivity and ease. Their presence is more than decorative; they shape the rhythm of the room, encouraging calm conversation and heightening the sensory experience of dining.

Palægade’s interiors are a study in contrasts: softness and strength, intimacy and openness, heritage and modernity. The result is an atmosphere where Danish design heritage unfolds not as a backdrop, but as an essential part of the guest experience — a setting that is as sensual and layered as the culinary craft it frames.
